Sound Body Lesson Guidelines

Alexander Technique is a non-manipulative educational movement study.

As an Alexander Technique teacher, I will be using my hands to help and guide your body.

Online work will include vocal guidance and prompts for movement and sensory exploration, sometimes using a prop or object.

For all classes and lessons, please wear comfortable clothing that is conducive to movement and flexibility.

Alexander Technique is an educative form, and while bodywork and somatic release can be an aspect of lessons, I am not diagnosing or treating any disease or condition.

While I take the upmost care to ensure your safety, I ask all students to agree not to hold me responsible for any (very unlikely) injury or discomfort that occurs before, during, or after Alexander lessons or for any injury that happens on Boulder Symphony Music Academy or Move To Center Studio property.

I encourage all my students to take leadership in their own learning, and each lesson is an opportunity to co-create and explore conditions for change and integration.

I’m a certified teaching member of the organization Alexander Technique International (ATI). You can reference the ATI Code of Ethics if you ever feel you need to further understand the responsibilities of a teacher-to-student or client relationship.

In order to effectively study, please agree to the terms by filling out and signing the MK Sound Body Studio Policies sheet (you’ll receive when we begin lessons).

During the Covid-19 Pandemic, in-person lessons will follow recommended mask mandates, and I have a thorough cleaning protocol alongside air filtration in each teaching space.

Cancellations

If you cannot make it to your regularly scheduled lesson time, a 24-hour cancellation policy will be applied.

If need be, please call, text, or email to cancel by the evening prior to your scheduled lesson day and time.  
If you do not show up on the day of your lesson (and give no notice), you will be charged for that lesson.  

In the case of illness or emergency on the day of your lesson, we can reschedule and the policy is waved. In these instances I ask that you communicate with me as quickly as you can before our lesson time.  

Any lessons I cancel due to illness or emergency will be rescheduled and fulfilled at the student’s convenience.

Payment Policies

All payments are due the day of the scheduled lesson time.

After a very first lesson is complete, you have the option to purchase a package of lessons.  

All lessons purchased are non-refundable.

Lessons & Packages must be fulfilled within 6 MONTHS of purchase. You will be emailed a reminder before your single lesson or group of lessons has expired and will have to renew payment for further lessons scheduled outside the 6-month time frame.
